NetXP Bars Suite
Command Bars and Context Menus
The command bar suite in NetXP is one of the most important aspects of NetXP.
They enable a complete unification of menus and toolbars and provide an
excellent user interface virtually identical to the one found in many Microsoft
applications, including Office 2003.
The context menu is designed to replace the Windows Forms context menu and
provide a way to display popup menus using the same architecture used by the
command bar control.
List Bar
This control is an implementation of the Microsoft Outlook bar control. This
control provides both the functionality of a standard Outlook bar control as
well as the functionality of the VS.NET toolbox control. The List Bar control
supports drag and drop, as well as custom rendering.
Status Bar
The NetXP status bar is a Windows Forms status bar that supports custom
rendering and progress bar panels, as shown in the screenshots.
View Bar
This control is a clone of the control in Outlook 2003 that allows navigation
between views. It is different from List Bar by the fact that it allows any
type of control to be displayed inside the pages.
Renderer Support
Through custom extensible rendering, the NetXP bars support Office 2003, Office
XP, and Windows XP visual styles. Because renderers are extensible, you can
also define your own custom look and feel in your own applications.
The three screenshots below show the three renderers provided with
NetXP. From top to bottom, these are: Office 2003, Office XP, and Windows
Default.
