Released September 14, 2002
This update fixes bugs and makes a few minor changes to XMark.NET. It is strongly recommended that you install it ASAP.
Service Pack 1 fixes the following bugs (some are found in our knowledge base):
New Features in SP1:
Licensing Changes in SP1:
This is perhaps the most important change in Service Pack 1. To begin, SP1 will be more strict on the login process. Right now, you can log in on one computer and log in on another at the same time. With SP1, if you try to log in on a computer while logged in on another computer, Dacris Benchmarks will tell you that it has been a licensing violation (you can only use Dacris Benchmarks on one computer at a time). However, you are not restricted to using Benchmarks on only one computer for eternity. (This was the case with version 4.9 or 5.0). Now you can simply uninstall it from its original computer and install it on another computer.
Another important change in SP1 is that it will require you to log in after running XMark 10 times. This is so users that have a trial version will be required to purchase the program after running it 10 times, making the trial version scheme more similar to Dacris Benchmarks 5.0. Right now, you can run XMark.NET (trial) as many times as you wish. The only limitation is the inability to save results or apply optimizations. But this will change.
Build Number:
This Service Pack is build number 6135.1. The '.1' part identifies that it is a service pack.
